State Registration Certificate No. RU.78.01.06.008.E.000977.02.12 dd. 27.02.2012
PURPOSE:
Deeply penetrating alkyd wood stain for efficient protection and decorative finishing wooden surface. Suitable for interior and exterior use.
PROPERTIES:
Forms a matt protective film with excellent protective and decorative properties. The active ingredients of the stain ensure three levels of wood protection:
- Biocidal additives protect wood from mold, decay, fungi, algae and wood destroying insects.
- Protective varnish film protects the surface from adverse weather conditions (rains, snow, frost).
- Lightfast pigments protect wood from the sun.
To improve adhesion to surfaces and reduce stain consumption, use Acrylic Preservative Wood Primer NEOMID BIO GRUNT before staining.
EXAMPLES OF USE: Use on interior and exterior surfaces, including wooden facades, decks, gazebos, fences, window units, doors, staircases, skirting boards, furniture, garden buildings, etc., for their protection and decoration. To enhance wear-resistance of the surface, additional varnishing with NEOMID Yacht Varnish is recommended.
SURFACE PREPARARTION: Make sure the surface is dry, well-sanded and free of dust. If you intend to paint highly resinous softwood, clean the surface with a cloth soaked in white spirit and let solvent evaporate completely. When handling fungal and mold-infected wood, treat the surface with a special purpose bleaching compound NEOMID 500. Sand worn-out wood to a healthy layer. Sand previously painted surfaces until the old finish is satin-smooth. It is good practice to do a test patch on a small area before staining.
SOLUTION PREPARATION: Ready mix, requires no thinning. Stir thoroughly before use. There may be slight batch-to-batch variations in the hue. To avoid inconsistent color, mix the buckets together in a large container before staining.
APPLICATION: Apply stain at a temperature of at least +5°С and relative humidity no more than 80%. Apply 2-3 coats with a brush or spray gun along the wood grain, thoroughly impregnating butt-end surfaces; for topcoat use a brush. Intermediate sanding is required. The more coats you use, the more intense the color of the finish is. The service life of the film depends on climatic zone and atmospheric precipitation intensity. It is good practice to restain the surface from time to time.
DRYING TIME: Intermediate drying — 2 hours. Complete drying — up to 24 hours at +20ºС ±2.
NUMBER OF COATS: 2-3 coats.
CONSUMPTION FOR 1 COAT: Planed wood – up to 17 sq.m/l. Sawn wood – up to 8 sq.m/l. The actual consumption depends on wood type and its absorptiveness.
CLEANING UP: White spirit.
